With two vibrant and very contrasing colors, I'd incorporate other vibrant colors in your room to keep it from looking mismatched and out of place. If you're a girly girl, find some really cool feather boas like purple or bright green and put them over the top of your curtains like a valance. It will look fun and funky but girly at the same time. Find bedding that is primarily a different color than your wall like purple or bright green but that has the pink and blue in it. The you can find pink and blue throw pillows to tie in the wall color. Since you went with stripes, you may want to go with a contemporary style which has a lot of straight lines.....but choose round throw pillows and a round or oval shaggy rug in fun multiple colors to "soften" up the straight lines of your room a bit!

Since the walls are so bright and vibrant, I'd go with white or very light colored furniture...and window coverings.

Other than that, just choose accessories that help reflect your personality!

David asks…

Would this paint look good on my walls in my room?

I'm thinking Honolulu Blue, Black, and a Darker Shade of gray. I don't know, probably painted in stripes or something.

I was also thinking tie-dye walls would look pretty sweet. Anyone ever see that, and comments?

But yea, what do you guys (or girls) think about the Honolulu Blue, Black, and a Darker Shade of gray mix in my room. In stripes. Or something. Thanks people.

I think that will be cool

Linda asks…

I am striping my childs room walls. Am I doing this right?

I am striping the walls in my childs room. I watched a video on it and the girl on the video said paint the room the lightest color first, then tape off the stripes, after that paint every other stripe. Then peel the paint before it dries. Question is.... if i peel the paint on the first coat, before it dries... what do i do if i need a 2nd coat? Do i have to retape everything?

admin answers:

No leave the tape there till you have done the final coat. Make sure you used the correct type of tape for painting or it could bleed inder the tape and then your stuffed.
Hope it looks nice finished

John asks…

How to get this paint job?

I saw this and loved every bit of it (the paint that is) What would be the best and easiest way to achieve this look.

Would you recommend painting the walls all pink then painting or buying black wall paper?

Drawing lines and trying to paint the stripes by hand?

any other tips for painting a room like this

First, paint the walls pink. After the paint dries thoroughly (a couple of days), use a level to draw the lines around the room. Tape to the lines with painters tape. Press well to seal the tape and give you crisp lines. Next, prime with a deep tinted primer. Your paint clerk will be able to mix it for you. Let that dry, and then apply your first finish coat. It will take 2, possibly 3 coats. When finished, and happy with the results, peel the tape carefully. Hope this helps.
