Room Decoration Games

Michael asks…

How should we decorate a game room for teenagers?

My parents are giving me and my brothers a game room so that we can stop bothering them with our noise from rock band. They are adding it on to the back of our house. We know that a big plasma t.v. will go in it and rock band. We were also thinking a ping pong table and bean bags. I was wondering what other things (games, stuff to do) should we put in there? I am a 14 year old girl, I have an older brother who is 17 and a younger brother who is 12. We are kind of having conflicting ideas on how to decorate it, wall color and stuff
any ideas?

I hope you are able to fold up the ping pong table for larger social events. You two can figure it out. Start with color preferences and go from there. Don't use fabric curtains.

Daniel asks…

Why do girls look at your room?

One of my friends came over and totally did this first thing and I was like: "Oooookkk...."
I just realized just recently, wait does she like me?! My room isn't that special, really.
Once she looked at it, she looked at me like she couldn't figure me out or something. Girls confuse me, if only they were straight-forward like guys, they are SO. FREAKIN. CONFUSING. I don't really like decorating my room very much because my video games are my prized possessions :p

Mark asks…

What furniture should a 13 year old girl have in her room, and what would she want?

Me and my hubby are re-decorating my kids room for her 14th birthday, as we're moving and all!

Shes into 'alternative' music, like joy division and the smiths, linking parks..

We have (obviously) a Bed, Bookhelf, chest of drawers, and an inbuilt wardrobe.

We're doing her room a lovely light blue colour and a bluey-grey, although she'll probably ruin it with all her posters, but thats her choice..

anyway, sofas? bean bag chairs? blow up chairs? bed sets? not too expensive please, as we're also getting her a PC Game.

Thanks

Haley Morris

I'm sorry, I just have to say that you calling the band "linking parks" was just the cutest thing ever! (It's Linkin Park by the way)

That said, If there is room, a sofa or nice cushy arm chair would be great for her to read or do homework in. Even a pullout sofa would be nice for slumber parties. She will probably have a lot of them going into high school.

Someone suggested Ikea and I agree. If you go into the bedroom section of the site, they have a youth bedroom slide show, you can get some great ideas.

And remember, tons of storage and things like bulletin boards. She will have a ton of pictures and things of her friends to put up.

You sound like awesome, awesome parents, kudos to you
