Mandy asks…
What color should I paint my room?
I'm a teenage girl who is pretty girly, and my favorite colors are light purple and lime green. I have a collection of shopping bags (yes kind of weird) on my wall, pictures, a calendar, and a picture of a blue flower that says (wish it, dream it, do it.) on it. My furniture is white and I just can't decide on a color. I want it to look classy, but be comfortable and a good environment for studying and sleeping and just hanging out.
Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

A light turquise or sky blue
If you do sky blue paint clouds on the ceiling
If you like the color purple paint every wall a diffrent shade of purple. That would be so epic!
Then go buy some cool vases then get some fake bright colored flowers to make the room look a little bright and happier.
After you choose your color, you might want to go shopping for some new bedspread/ sheets/ and pillows to match your new colors!
Goood luck!

What colour should i paint my room? more details inside?
Okay, so i get to re-do my room. right now its a limegreen with pink and shoes and stuff you know like a typical 12 yr old girl room:P well now im 15 and my sis is moving into a differnet room so my mom said i can re-do it. I reaaallly want like blackand white dance pictures and stuff on the wall, but im unsure of what colour to do. i cant do purple or light purple (personal reasons too long to explain:P) and i cant do torquoise because my sister is right across the hall and she has the exact torquoise id want.
so can someone helppp ?
thanks! you may be picked as a best answer; ]

I'd go with white walls and put up lots of framed posters.

Look out for some really cool, vintage furniture pieces at charity stores or whatever, get some really classic, unusual curtains too, or you could make some out of fabric from a fabric store, pick out some that you like which could be black (black would make good curtains).
Get a load of posters of bands you like and stick them up on the walls, depends where you live, but AllPosters.co.uk has a large selection and their prices are quite fair, so you could take a look there.
As for paint, I'd say hot pink - or maybe you could wallpaper one wall - I saw this one scene girl's bedroom and she had hot pink and white striped wallpaper, which looked really cool.
Also, you should hang a load of your clothes off the front of your wardrobe, that can really improve a room. You could get a string of christmas tree lights too and string them up (they'll be cheap this time of year).
I think that would be a good start. Hope I gave you a few ideas :)
Robert asks…
What colour to paint my room?
My room is kinda smallish. not sure of the actual dimensions but basically the door is on the left side and the closet is on that same wall then right across from the closet is a window.
I'm almost 16 and a girl.
I don't mind pink. my room is actually like this baby pink at the moment but I'm kinda getting tired of it and I'd like something a little more "grown up" if you know what i'm saying.
we're starting renos for our kitchen on tuesday and my dad's thinking of painting the whole house again since it's been 6 ish years since we last painted it.
if you have pictures of swatches of colours then great! i was thinking of doing like an accent wall or something on one of the side walls with a wallpaper or a different colour that's brighter or something.
thanks!

Because of the window, make the wall your door is in a light color. The light that shines in through your window will make it seem a bit bigger. Make the window wall a dark or patterned wall if you like. If your wall goes in a bit where your door is, put wall paper, like patterned wall paper, around it, and leave the wall around the closet a light paint color.
You can also make furniture go to your advantage too. Push your bed against a wall, preferably in the far corner, to have better walking space. If you have a tv, hang it on your wall. If you have two dressers, try and hang your clothes in the closet and get rid of one. It's always best to go through your stuff and see what you don't need/want anymore too.
I suggest NOT using neon colors. They will start becoming distracting, and they will make it hard to sleep at night, plus they will run out of style soon too.
Add a carpet, a small one, if you have enough space between your bed and the door/closet.
There are a ton of things you can do to your room. I hope you have fun!
