Room Themes For Guys

Photobucket

David asks…

what do you think of a coed trip overnight?

so this weekend i was invited to go to a theme park with some friends which is 3 girls (including me) and either 4 or 5 guys. we are staying in a hotel overnight and we have different hotel rooms (guys and girls) they are right next to each other and the two sets of parents are down the hall. my mom still thinks its not such a good idea for the kids to be so close but im trying to assure her we wont get into trouble. what do you think about all of this? how can i convince my mom its ok?
by the way we are all 15 or 16 years old

I think it's fine as long as you're in your own rooms. And even if you aren't you should know not to do anything.
Just tell your mom that the parents will be watching you and will make sure nothing happens.

I would love to do that!

Tips on Redoing My Room (TEEN GUY)?

Ok so let me start off by putting you in the situation I am in. I'm 14 turning 15 soon (freshmen) and I have been trying to redo my room for the past 2 or 3 years. But I just started asking my parents so I kept asking about once a moth or so. Eventually just a couple of days ago my parents said that they would help redo my room in April the only problem is that I need a "idea". During the couple of years that I have been wanting a new room design I have had many ideas. Such as a baseball theme, sports theme, and most recently just a "traditonal" theme.

QUESTION 1 - What kind of theme should I have (hobbies are: guitar, sports, baseball) I drifted away from the sports theme cuz I think it is to "little kidish

Just to give you an idea of what the shape of my room is. It is a basic squaremy door is almost directly in the middle of the rrom on the bottom of the square. but on the right side of the square there is a little indent that goes out further. I do not know the deminsions or anything for my room.Currently my room is like this. Picture the square on the left side of the room and up against the back (top of square) wall is where my bed is, I have two night stands one on each side of my bed. Across the way, from my bed (on bottom left of square) I have a short (in height) dresser with a TV on it. On the bottom right of the rrom (squarE) I have a small book case where currently I am keeping my trophies. In the indent in the square where the room goes out further I have my desk it has like a book case that is attached to it (just the design). In the top right corner of my room i have my second dresser it is big (in height).

QUESTION 2. How should I rearrange my furniture

Just a little more info I plan on painting my room like a dark blue or maybe a black. Really just to get like a traditional kind of feeling. I plan on getting like small organization containers mainly because I can't keep my room clean unless I have a place to put my stuff.

QUESTION 3. What kind of furniture should I add to my room to fit my theme and to keep my room cool and organized.

FINAL. Please answer all questions and if you can try to be as specific as possible thanks.
Here is the layout of my room:

Just to add I can not move the TV from the bottom corner that is where the cables come through the wall.

(To Me) I'm not convinced on the shelvs around the room because it make the room still seem like a mess but the mess is just not on the floor, any other ideas?

Wow....Ok...You have alot of stuff...Trophy's ectra taking up space. Put a shelf around the top of your room to get them out of the way and make your room look neater http://images.vrbo.com/vrbo/images/199dc5

From what you described here is your room http://www.flickr.com/photos/44515431@N06/4400396266/in/photostream/
Here is what I suggest http://www.flickr.com/photos/44515431@N06/4400396292/in/photostream/

I don't suggest a theme ....I suggest you choose colors and textures you like. Your wall art and shelf items will suggest a theme and take on a life of their own. Choose colors that you won;t get bored with and can work with in the future. What you think is great today will not be your choices when your 17. Go neutral and let your bedding and area rug and items make the statement ..not the walls and floor.

***The shelf all the way around the room 12" to 18" down and the items spaced will not look cluttered. Is your bed a twin or double? I'll mock up a new drawing. Please measure the room show where the window is and aproximate size of the dressers. Are your 2 night stands the same?

Remember to also consider SOUND as part of the decor. A light sound of waves and sea gulls in the backgroung will help the feel.

Okay so Im a teen girl in highschool and I really want to decorate my room. I want you guys to give like a theme that I could do in my room and say how i could use it- like wall colour(s), bed style, whats on the wall, rugs , etc.

I love that tiffany blue colour but i dont know how to use that for a theme idea. but i mean i want all sorts of ideas. please and thank you

You could have an underwater theme ? ? It would go well with a light brown so you paint a wall just brown and the other blue. Sorry I couldn't think of much else ! :)
