If you choose to paint it in, for the lack of a better tern now, "girly" colours, I'd suggest you also go with girly items. Like rattles, ribbons, gift boxes, a princess as shadows. Like, this one: http://img04.static-nextag.com/image/48-In-x-72/1/000/007/312/287/731228700.jpg
Really sorry for the small picture, that was the only one I could find this quick. But I was talking about painting a shape (e.g. A ribbon) in purple on a pink wall. For example. (:
Hope it'll look great in the end, whatever you choose to do!! (:

I want my new room to be Black White And Purple. Any suggestions or pictures to make it look AMAZING?
My new bedroom suit is pretty much black with white accents. The overall theme of the room is black and white. I wanna add a third colour to make it look AMAZING. Im a very modern 16yr old girl.

Well if you're painting then i think you should paint your walls purple. Or get purple accent pillows, a lamp, or something like that. Just little details like picture frames are good. It's all in the details.

I'd suggest a full length mirror with a white metal trim and white cupboards, a white desk and maybe a white bed. The white will stop your room from looking too overly pink and purple, plus it'll help tie the two colours together so they don't clash. You can add little pink and purple accessories such as lampshades, lightshades, curtains and bedlinen. Try to look for accessories which are either pink or purple as often its hard to find good accessories which are both. You could also try wall papering one wall of your room in a bold pink and purple print to make it look chic and sophisticated.
Hope this helps!

How do you compromise on decorating a house (paint)?
My husband & I are about to buy a new home. Our current home has different colors--mocha living room, red kitchen, sage dining room. Our 2 girls have whimsical themes. One has purple & green with butterflies hanging from the ceiling & the other has yellow with flowers on the walls. My husband just came back from deployment & hates all the different colors. He said he wants the new house to be all white--no color whatsoever. I feel that color can warm a home. For the girls, it brings out their personalities. Is there any way to compromise on paint? I love the colors. In fact, he helped paint the living room & kitchen. I painted the others by myself. He even said he likes the sage I picked out! Yet, he insists he doesn't want all these colors in the next house. How can we call it a home if we can't even decorate it? I can't stand white walls! Any suggestions?

I just recently bought a home also and the way we compromise on color is to paint the whole house a neutral color like a darker shade of white. Maybe an off white or a light beige. You can paint the base boards and trim white. Also instead having your color just using paint consider using your furniture as color...such as colorful bedding, pillows and accent pieces. Color just doesn't have to be on the wall. I think that if you put colors other places in the home besides on the walls you both will be happy. I hope this helps.
