Room Design For Teenage Girls

Photobucket

Mary asks…

Colours, themes for teenage girls room?

So me and one of my friends really want to do a web show type thingy like iCarly, or The Miley and Mandy Show. Just for fun! And my Dad is letting me design the interior of one of our attics to use for the show! As we don't use it and have lots of other spare rooms but this one is a really good shape and most accessible so yeah, anyway.. I need some ideas for like colours, themes, prints, furniture things like that what would look really good as the setting for a web show which we will put on youtube!! :) xx Thank you!

Teen girls often pride themselves on their personal sense of style, so you will want to get your daughter’s input when deciding on bedroom decorating themes for teenage girls. Whether she prefers traditional or contemporary designs, there are many excellent bedroom themes to choose from that don’t rely on the pink and purple princess look associated with younger girls.

The easiest way I have found to change up a room is walls. Decorate your walls! You can frame collages of you, your friends, hobbies/interests or about anything. Frame pieces of fabric that match your rooms colors.. Or scrapbook paper (both are super easy to change if you don't like it after awhile).. Don't spend too much money because in 2-3 years it might be TOO girly for you.. Get wooden letters from a craft store, paint them and hang them on the wall to spell out something (your name, CHERISH, LOVE, FAITH, etc)

bedroom design for teenage girl?

going to be 16 in august. it is a medium sized room, with a single bed, cream carpet, and pale pink walls. these cannot be altered. at the moment most of the walls are covered in magazine cuttings and photos. how can i make it look more grown up? its quite cluttered, and looks messy and quite horrible!
oh, and i have a biiiiig bay (i think thats the word) window.

Have you damaged the walls with tape or anything that holds up the magazine clippings? If not, take them all down and put them in a scrapbook (or throw them away), except for your three favorites.

Here's the important part if you want a nice looking room: Pick an "inspiration piece" and use those colors or that motif in the rest of the room. If you have to stick with your current comforter, you might use the colors in that as your jumping off point.

Pick ONE color that appears most in your inspiration piece OTHER than pink. Buy a few pieces of posterboard in that color to use for cheap mattes and put no more than three of your favorite pictures, magazine clippings, or whatever centered attractively on the mattes. (Cut them to the sizes you need.) Arrange those on your walls and you'll have a whole new, much more grown-up look, and still keep your favorite things displayed.

Go through the clutter and make some tough decisions about what you can't use/wear or don't want any more and get rid of it - either donate it to a charity or have a yard sale - you'll feel so much better with the clutter gone!

If you still need additional storage after you've narrowed down your things, get some under-the-bed storage boxes so it won't be able to take over your room.

Last, but not least, follow the "one in, one out" rule - if you bring something new IN, you have to toss something old OUT. Best of luck!

Themes for redecorating my room?

I am switching rooms with my sister soon, but I am going to redecorate it because who likes a princess themed room as a teenager? Not me.
So anyway...I am getting a medium color hardwood floors. The same color as in the picture below.
Is this a good color theme for a kind of small room? I want modern with an accent wall. And I also want a small bed so I have more room for everything else.
Sorry I can't get it on a separate window. It's the 3rd one down- magenta and white

U want light colored walls so the room looks even bigger than it is. That room is bigger than what ur describing, but if you do it right not too much magenta then you'll have the hottest room of all your friends. I would also olike to thank you because that page gave me ideas for my next room. Thanks : )
