First of all, don't rush yourself. Internet can give you many wonderful sources of inspiration. You just take a look around and collect whatever you find interesting. Save this to a folder maybe and from this pickout what all you can actually integrate onto your room. Here is a link that could get you started.

As you have a cream colour currently, I would recommend images 1, 2 and 5. Let me know if this helped...

Sandra asks…

Music theme room ideas?

Hey! I'm really into music, not that I play any, but music basically is my life.
I'm redoing my room and I thought about a music theme room.
Im 16 and a girl. I want it to be calm, not tacky and age appropriate.

Here are some ideas I have already (non are set) :
-light (but bright) blue walls
-old records of my favourite artist on the walls
-white bedspread (so i can easily change the colour of throw pillows, etc.)
-my smallest wall (its really small) would have a collage of cd covers on it

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Wow, your ideas automatically make me think of my sister's room who just so happens to be your age! She really loves music as well, and being an artist, I helped her design it.

★First, we picked a wall color. We went to a local Sherwin Williams paint store and picked out the shade. For blues, check this link: http://www.sherwin-williams.com/search/?fromsearch=1&Ntt=blue&y=0&userRefinedSearch=true&NneColor=204&x=0&chkFilter=color&chkFilter=home It's a list of all blue shades Sherwin Williams carries. If you don't live near a Sherwin Williams, many stores that carry paint can actually mix paint to match shades!
(ALWAYS REMEMBER: Paint dries much darker than the samples sometimes)

★As for white bedding, I think you'd love this: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?itemdescription=true&itemCount=80&startValue=1&selectedProductColor=&sortby=&id=16814493&parentid=A_FURN_BEDDING&sortProperties=+subCategoryPosition,+product.marketingPriority&navCount=7&navAction=jump&color=&pushId=A_FURN_BEDDING&popId=A_FURN_BEDROOM&prepushId=&selectedProductSize= I own this comforter and I adore it! It is so soft and comfortable, definitely gives the "I don't want to get out of bed feeling". I love the fact that it has the built in squares so the inside stays in place. Expensive, but overall worth it.

★Now to the music!
My sister got old pieces of sheet music and made them look kind of antique-like by tea staining them (wetting tea bags under hot water, squeezing excess water out, and blotting the paper) and covered a portion of her wall with them.

Also, you could make a decorative mirror by attaching old CDs to a board, or straight to your wall in a rectangle shape. You could even get a music note stencil and paint them around your room as a border, too.

For a more traditional room, you could hang old records on the wall as a decoration (please make sure they're too scratched up to play :D), and frame some old sheet music and record covers as art.

If you're looking to buy some decorative music-themed items for your room, http://wildaboutmusic.stores.yahoo.net/decor.html is a great site!

Also, some great places to find great decor products:
Pottery Barn: http://www.potterybarn.com/?cm_type=gnav & PB Teen http://www.pbteen.com/?bnrid=3700111&flash=on&cm_ven=eCommerce&cm_cat=sitelink&cm_pla=PB&cm_ite=header (they have great room accessories like lamps, desks, and bookcases)
Urban Outfitters: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/index.jsp
(they carry really artsy, funky, and creative room decor items)
Anthropologie(warning:expensive!): http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp
(they carry vintage inspired decor that's really beautiful and creative)

I have also found Target stores to be great sources for furniture and decor, surprisingly. They usually have cute bookcases, tables, and wall art.

Sometimes crafting and creating your own decor is just as good! One of my favorite crafters has to be Elsie from http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/ Check out her website as well as her links for creative inspiration :)

I hope I helped some and if you have more questions, feel free to send me a message! Good luck with your room xoxo :)

Joseph asks…

Any room ideas? Color? Theme?

I'm moving and have no idea what to do for my new room. The floor is a dark cherry hard wood and there is white crown molding with a white ceiling. I have no idea what to do!! Themes anyone?

I'm a girly girl, but i'm 14 so keep it cool...
