Purple Girls Room Paint

Photobucket

Ruth asks…

I am getting ready to paint my childs room....need help?

It is a girls room she is going to paint it pink and purple...so...2 walls pink/2 purple...how can I do this and not let the colors run together? I know to use that painters tape but how long do I have to let one color dry before applying the tape to it to put the other color on? And then will that tape stop it from bleeding thru?

Steven asks…

How much would it cost to re-paint my room?

My room is relatively small, 13 feet by 11 feet. The walls are currently a dark, milky purple, and the carpet is very dark, like a purple rose. Is it worth re-painting the walls if I cannot tear up the carpet? And if so, what would be the cost to re-paint it? (I have no clue in terms of how many cans of paint to buy to what color to paint it, so any input would be helpful)
I'm 17 and tired of my 'little girl's room'.

admin answers:

1Quart trim 6.00

David asks…

What colors should I paint my room?

I'm almost 19, a girl, my fave colors are all shades of pink, blue, green and purple. I can paint my room 2 colors...one for the walls and one for the woodwork around the windows and door. What 2 colors would look really cute and girly together? I want my room to be fun and colorful but not too childish.

Play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "tawny tan" (# 7713) trim with "river rouge" (# 6026) walls might be a great choice. That way if you ever decide to paint your room again, the tan should go with everything so you'd only have to repaint the walls.

You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
