Thank you so much in advance you guys are the bomb.com
I DIDNT MENTION THIS BUT MY BROTHER IS 11 YEARS OLD

For you I would definitely do a light-ish/ teal blue paint color. And then your accent color can be white, black, or brown. These color combos are timeless and will last you forever. Also, say you choose the accent color as white. If you get bored of it you can always change those accent pieces up to be black or brown.

If your brother's room is pretty big, I would say paint the walls in a black chalkboard paint and he can draw on the walls depending on what mood he is in. Or if the room is medium to small, I would say paint the walls an orange, lime green, or forest green color.

I hope this helps!

John asks…

How to decorate a game room for my kids?

I want to decorate a game room for my kids for Christmas. They are ages 8,8, 9,9, 12,13,13,13,and 16. I have a Wii for them with Guitar Hero III and some other games. I want to make the room a place that is fun for them to hang out in and to bring friends to. I REALLY need help in deciding how to paint it (5 girls and 4 boys), and what kind of accessories I should have ie bean bag chairs, etc. I could use some teenage input on what you would like if it were a room for you. Thanks.

Heh i'm only 14 (15 in 6 days ^_^) but I want to be an interior designer when i'm older so maybe I can help :P

First I would decide whether you want the room to be cold or whether you want it to be warm. Depending on what you choose decides which colours you will go for. If you're going for a cold look I would suggest light airy colours (light blues, greens, whites, etc.) and if you're going for warm go for more deep and rich colours (red, orange, brown, black, etc.) also it's a good idea to take the children's favourite colours into consideration, this may be hard considering all the kids you have but you can always get a decent rounded up colour. I would also suggest to stick to two colours, e.g. Red and black, orange and black, red and orange, blue and white, green and white, brown and beige etc.

When painting the room a good tip to take is paint 1 wall a darker shade than the other 3, this will give the room a much better look. In the sources below I have included a link to show you what I mean by this. I've used the example colours brown/beige.

If you're going to wallpaper the room take the size of the room into consideration. If you have a small room you can make it look bigger/longer by putting vertical stripes on one wall then painting the other walls with a colour that's in the wallpaper.

As for accessories I would say the beanbags are a must-have item. Get them in the 2 colours that you've painted the room, or something close to it.

That's all I can think of right now, hope I helped :O
