Lavender and cream are beautiful vintage colors. Consider going to a flea market and buying some old lace doiles...put them in frames for the wall. (they are fabulous) Also, hang a lovely wreath with pastel flowers on your door. Pressed flowers under glass are also great for wall decor. You can also get a great patchwork quilt in pastels for the bed. A coat rack with an old straw hat and a vintage dress hanging on it will add some fun to the room. You are probably going to want distressed white furniture. If you find an old set at a yard sale you can paint in and then sand the edges here and there to make it look old and distressed. Use a primer and then a satin or semi-gloss white paint. Take a little piece of sand paper and sand off the paint here and there. Add vases of flowers...old jars and pitchers make great containers. Flea markets are the best place to find these things.

teen girl bedroom decor?
i need ideas and where i can find them. we don't have tons of mulah (money) either. She likes bright colors and polka dots and stripes. She is 16. Big music person, too. Thanks for the help! :D
we live in an apartment. her room isn't huge but it isn't that small either. can't paint the white walls.
Thanks for the ideas, but we can't paint anything on the walls. Only small thumb tacks and pins can hang things up, also

Go to a fabric store and pick out a material you like wrap it and batting over a cork board.
Go to home depot and get some plywood and attach a mirror tile to it with construction glue then make a border out of you fav things (pop bottle caps, pop bottle labels, guitar pics, etc)
walmart, family dollar, dollar general, dollar tree, and thrift stores have good finds.
Hobby lobby and Michael's put 50% off coupons in their ads every other week you could use it to purchase a canvas and make a large painting for your room.
Don't worry about following a theme. Use things you like, your room should reflect you!
I was your age when i finally got my own room. I had solid pink curtains. I had them ever since i could remember. To update them i bought cute feather boas at Michael's and hung them like you would hang a window scarf.
I found a beat up table at the thrift store for five bucks. I painted it and it looked great.
There's so many options it's hard to list them all. You don't need to spend a lot to get a nice bedroom.

13 year old girl bedroom ideas?
I want to redo my bedroom. I am 13, and I want to be an interior designer when I grow up. I want some vintage decorations but we don't have a ton of money, so it can't be too expensive. I want a new dresser, mirror, bookshelf (or just a smaller bookshelf), and wall decor and color. My walls are currently baby blue, and I have ugly green carpet that can't be taken out. Right now everything is navy blue, red or white (it's a nautical seaside theme).
The colors I want to use are
Orange (I like burnt orange, pumpkin, bright orange, or a light orange that's just darker than peach.)
Teal
Off-white
I don't want a girly girl look, I want more of a "vintage" look. So, do you have any ideas? Thank you!

What type of vintage look are you wanting? Do you want a 50s, 60s, french, cottage, etc.
Check out www.hgtv.com and www.diy.com and do a search for the type of vintage look you want. There are SO many different ideas you will have to choose from for your new bedroom. Just remember, if you see a purple room, imagine it using a teal or orange. Good luck and have lots of fun redoing your room!
