Photobucket

Linda asks…

I need decor ideas for my living room?

So my bf and I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and since were a young couple we don't have many things. Were in are early 20's and we hang nothing to hang on the walls in the living room. Do you have any cheap idea or maybe things that I can make?
Also what stores would be cheap but good to find the sticker wall designs?

Get your digital camera out (or borrow one) and take some pictures of things you enjoy- try to look at them differently, like if your man is into cars, take a pic of the hood ornament up close or the part of the tire....then mess around with them like looking at them in sepia tones or other ways to change the picture alittle and then blow up the pic...frame it in a cool from - I used IKEA for inexpensive frames, and there you go..you'll have very personal art and it doesn't cost much!

Carol asks…

Any ideas and suggestions for decorating each room in my apartment?

I just moved into a new apartment a couple of months ago, and I'm actually waiting to start furnishing/decorating the rooms in it. I already have so many ideas for what I want in each room. For my living room, I'd like for it to have this earthy, homey theme with earthy colors. Then I'd like my bathroom to have this "glam" theme with tons of glitter-like decor and a poster of NYC. Also, for my bedroom I want it to have a very calm, relaxing motif with a lot of light blues as well as a "meditation corner" with a light blue mat, some pillows, and reed diffusers. I'm actually gonna get a double bed because the one that I have now...I've had it for almost 20 years, and I think it's about time that I get an update.

Does anybody here have any suggestions or ideas that I could possibly incorporate for each room in my apartment? I would appreciate your honest advice and feedback. Thank you very much!

I found some very helpful decorating information and ideas at this blog and website. The blog had all kinds of decorating ideas and it was very useful. I believe there is a link in the blog to the site where you can purchase art prints or posters to frame. I included both links for you. Hope it helps.

Ruth asks…

What do you think of my books so far?

Please be honest. I have written this a couple of times and was told I was being ridiculous and making their mansion far too big. So I changed it up and made it more realistic. Please be honest, all criticism is appreciated. :)

Chapter One

Jade pulled into the driveway in the brand new Porsche that she saved up to buy for herself for her eighteenth birthday. I looked up from my People magazine, but she just stormed right past me. That was odd. Jade normally would have sat down and talked to me, or at least have said hello. I stared right after her as she made her way up the elegant stairway that curved along the wall, leading upstairs. I rose from the stairs that were in front of our mansion and followed her to her bedroom.
Jade locked the door behind her, making sure I wouldn’t follow her in there. I knocked and waited for a reply. “Jade? It’s only me. What’s wrong?”
I tried the door, but it wouldn’t budge. “Jade?” I asked again. I heard a soft sobbing coming through the door. I looked around me, only to come up with a marvelous idea. Everybody had their own bathroom in our mansion, and a door way was in the hall, right next to their bedroom. But, there was also a door connecting to the bathroom through your bedroom. She probably didn’t lock the bathroom door. I slowly crept over to Jade’s bathroom and opened the door. Bingo.
I was attacked by red walls and pink décor. Red and pink were Jade’s favorite color combination and you could tell what things were Jade’s because they were always marked with these colors. The counter was a white marble with black cabinets. The tiles in her shower were pink as well as the floor tiles. She had 5 light bulbs on top of her mirror to enhance her facial flaws so she can d her makeup easier.
The door leading to her bedroom was pink as well. I turned the red handle to find it unlocked. Jade usually thought of these things. She must really be upset if she forgot to lock these doors, if she was in such a depressed mood.
I found Jade curled up in one of those giant circular chairs, with the silver legs the criss-cross at the bottom. What a surprise, it was red! Her face was tear streaked and she had a box of tissues on the floor next to her.
“You forgot to lock the bathroom door.” I said, quietly. She looked over at me with disgust, just to turn back to the wall she was facing. I walked over to her.
“Leave me alone, Kylie.” She whispered.
“What’s wrong? I’ll help you. I always help you.” I responded. She shook her head.
“You can’t help me this time.” She said. “Just leave me alone.” This time it was my turn to shake my head.
“No, Jade. Come on, stand up and get yourself cleaned up. You’ll better.” I tried to take her hand but she pulled away.
“Kylie, leave me alone. Just… just leave me alone, please.” She said.
“You can tell me anything. You can trust me. We’ll get through it together.”
“GET AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE! YOU CAN’T HELP ME! YOU’RE ONLY FIFTEEN!” She screamed. I jumped back at her sudden outrage. I back away.
“I thought we told each other everything…” I whispered. She just shook her head and pointed to the door.
“Out.” She said calmly. I nodded and back out through the bathroom, shutting the door and turning to run to my own bedroom.

Additional Details
She saves up the money for the Porsche because their parents don't like to spoil them. They teach them that working for money is what gets you successful in life. They have an inheritance, but their parents didn't tell them how much. They want them to grow as a person and work as much as the next person. They are not spoiled, in fact, they are far from it. They only get a credit card each but there's a limit of $300 every 2 weeks. If they use some money, they are reimbursed. If they don't money isn't added. They always have to have $100 on the card for emergencies. This is the only way they are spoiled. Just to clarify.
Sorry if I didn't mention it, but yes, they are sisters. And just because they live in a mansion, doesn't mean they're spoiled. Its their home and nothing else. They only have those credit cards for needs. As I said, they only get $300 and nothing more. 1/3 of that can't be used anyway. They aren't spoiled as you will see if I post later chapters.
Who said we can't repeat questions? I just wanted to have some more opinions. I apologize if that offended you.

admin answers:

I have reported this question. You aren't supposed to repeat questions. You've gotten enough happy go for it comments to fill your head for a year. Ask a new question.

You can't repeat questions because it's against the rules.

This isn't the full chapter and who says it has to be believable? This is only the beginning and who says they have to be spoiled. I am not a bored teenager. Yes I did just think of this, but I took my time writing it. I have many ideas that are developing in my mind write now and I am currently planning the book out, thank you very much!

admin answers:

1. This isn't a chapter
2. They are spoiled.
3. Can you say random?
4. THIS DOESN'T MAKE YOUR WRITING SEEM VERY MATURE. HECK IT MAKES YOU SEEM LIKE A BORED TWEENAGER.
5. 300 dollars, for two weeks. Make it one hundred and it might, might, be believable.

Not believable. In any shape or form.

Um, if this is supposed to be a modern fiction book then it has to be believable. Also, if you are still planning then why have you started writing. Beginnings lead to the end, and if you don't know the path how do you know where to start? They are spoiled despite what you say! This is like some sort of elaborate fantasy! Where you can have 300 dollars on a credit card and not be considered spoiled.
