Need help decorating a toddler's girl room, the carpet is blue w/white specks, the walls?
are white. I want to incorporate shades of purple, and possibly black for a glam look. I'm confused on what to do. If anyone's good with color, please help. And what color picture frames do I use? And for her bedding, what solid color comforter should I get? I'd like to use different colored pillows! Please help, thanks!

Well we know your carpet color, but is the furniture color in the room? Purple and black are great. You could do a solid black border around the top of the room with thick purple stripes down the length of the room - switching from white to purple, white to purple with the black around the top. Then use black frames and black, white and purple decorative pillows (try target). Good luck!

I used a sleigh-style toddler bed for my little ones. They are pretty and come in white. Cherry wood or oak finish. I didn't use princess either. My daughter has lady bugs in her room :)

baby and toddler sharing a room. would you?
I have a son he will be 19 months old when I have his sister. We only have a two bed room house so they have to share a room. But everything in the room right now is blue and boyish. The wall are white but have blue border with animals drive big trucks very much for a boy. anyways do you think its ok to take down half his border on the side of the room on daughters stuff will be on and put some pink girl stuff up on that side. The only thingsthat will be in the bedroom are a crib and dresser each and a book shelf and my rocking chair. all toys and other things are down stairs in the play room. Would you do this?
I baby is not due until 10/25 so we have alot of time for my son to adjust. And any advice on preparing my son for the new baby would be great. THANK YOU!

Check with your local social services office on laws, because that other poster is right--many do not allow it. I'd keep baby with you in a crib or bassinet until baby is sleeping through so the older child isn't woken up every thirty seconds. I'd rip down his border completely and just paint the walls a light blue. I'd do it now so everyone adjusts and just tell him that he's getting a new big boy room. At 19 mos, he won't really care. If you can get a big section of the wallpaper, stick it in a frame to hang on his side of the room. Then, on her side, add some butterflies, flowers, or something feminine in a frame. I'd make the room match as much as possible and just add a touch of boy/girl to each side of the room.
David asks…
what is a good theme for a baby and toddler that are going to share a room? ?
Okay so we are having another baby and are waiting till the end of 2010 to buy a bigger house. Currently we have a nice sized 2 bedroom house and we are pregnant with our second kid. So I was just trying to find crib bedding that would go well with a toddler set. Something that is the same as the crib bedding or similar to it. So the bedroom can match, you know?
I would really like something neutral. Currently its a dark red dark blue theme with sail boats. Witch I love but I want to make sure it stay coed just in case this baby is a girl.
