Keep the color pale and clear - white, light cream, pastels. Run with one main color. Dark or dramatic colors and contrasts make the room visually smaller, by reducing the focus length. Keep furniture light colored and in proportion with the room too. Keep mess and clutter to a minimum, to maximize the space. Use under bed storage to clear the area. Use small prints, photos, not large ones. Keep bedding simple, and manchester (curtains, pillows, blankets, doonas, etc) in one or two tones of the same color scheme.

Paint color suggestions for a 14 yr old girl's room?
So I'm 14, and right now my room is like a tangerine orange. My room is modern chic yet on the sophisticated side. I'm repainting it but i have no idea what color to choose. I want a darker color to make the room feel more cozy(but not too dark). I'd also like it to be an age appropriate color that still fits my age as i get older. Any help? Thanks!

Color choosing is difficult! But mostly it matters about what furniture you have. And what colors you have in your room. So you want your room to feel cozy and age appropriate well here is what i think your room color should be.

We are moving into a house that has 2 extra rooms, and both rooms are painted girl colors.?
We have a boy and we wanted to paint one of the rooms a boyish color, they wont let us paint it because its custom painted, hand painted with a sponge. I respect that, but can anyone else help me figure out how to decorate the room so my son has a boyish looking room, I have heard maybe I can hang bed sheets the color I want over the walls, but thats probably tacky.... PLEASE HELP!!!
