Charles asks…

Need to design shared room for 11month boy and 5yr old girl?

I need to put my to little ones in a room together. Boy has jungle themed crib (converts to a bed) with earth toned colors, and he has a dresser/changing table and some toys. Girl is into girlie things and has pastel bedding (pinks, purple, blue) on a twin bed, a dresser, and more toys (doll house, barbies, tea table with chairs). I like Ikea and Target.
My daughter has the following as a storage for toys, I am thinking of buying another one and putting them together to use as a divider for the room. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99847410.
Maybe even a tall room divider to give my girl a little privacy. Any suggestions?

admin answers:

That IKEA link didn't come through but if the room is large enough, I do think having a type of room divider is nice. Just be sure whatever you use is sturdy enough that it won't tip over, esp. If the baby starts getting interested in climbing things! An inexpensive (and non-permanent) way to decorate a room is to use adhesive vinyl decorative lettering and graphics. One especially nice touch is to customize kids' names, perhaps putting it over their beds. Check out my website here: http://veronica.uppercaseliving.net . Room Design for teen girl? Small room?

I'm really tired of my room. Its all posters, and I don't think its.. so cool anymore. I want a really nice bedroom that is Relaxing and bright

I don't know how to describe that kind of design I really want

I love orange, and white, and brown.. all those kind of stuff. and I love those flower patterns and everything like that. I was in Ikea and I saw the PERFECT design, I just cant explain it haha

Can you please list some websites.. and If you know the kind of design i saw in Ikea.. Itll be great if you list it down! (:

My room is also very small.. It's exactly like a square.

Ok maybe paint the walls a more coraly orange. A direct orange may hurt the eyes or remind you of a carrot after awhile. Usually stamps can cost alot so get like a sponge you would use to wash dishes (a new one lol) and cut out the fleur-de-lis symbol. Use a stencil printed from offline or something. Try to use as much of the sponge as you can so that its big. With that use brown paint and sponge on the design. Measure out your walls first and evenly divide the designs apart so that you're not stuck in a corner. Sponge it about halfway between the floor and ceiling, like where a chair rail would be. Use that same brown for the trim on your walls and around the doors/windows. You should find a brown bedspread, or if you find one a like satiny morroccan/indian/foreign looking one with orange, coral, and brown. That would look really nice. If you get the satiny one, get brown sheer window curtains/drapes but if you find a brown one (try finding it in satin too!!!) find orange sheer drapes and use them. A brown rug or an orange one would work. Any of the below items would work in the room, or something very similar. UHm, I really hope you understand. And I hope you like the idea, Good Luck!!! :D
