Anyone have teen girl room tips without painting and stuff?
Okay, I am a 14 yr old girl who has a blue and purple room. I am getting tired of it. I also have to share it with my sister who sometimes sleeps in my others sister's room when she is at college. I have the bed from IKEA that takes two beds and make them into one bunk bed. I also have two clothes chests, a huge shelf, a little shelf, and a big sliding door closet. Does anybody have any tips on what I can do to make my room look sweet, like one from a magazine!? Okay, well thanks!

Ok. I have my own room but every now and then I like to give it a change of style. On a relatively small budget you can do tonnes of thinsgs to change the look.
If you can't paint the walls, there are heaps of things you can do. I have a collection of cool stretches of material, cloths, sarongs etc that I hang up to cover my walls. Lace always looks awesome. Fairy lights, lanterns and candles also give the room a really groovy feel.
A friend of mine has a really awesome wall decoration that looks like a filmstrip, but really it is made out of a collection of small and large, coloured and black and white photos. Requires a bit of money to get the pics developed, and some effort to sort it out but it looks fantastic and none of your friends will have it.
Something else that can be fun (I like it at least) is to have a mannikan in your room and dress it up. I bought one from an opshop for $10 and I dress it up alternatively in my favourite new clothing items, new outfit ideas, and sometimes I even buy wacky old wedding dresses and gowns (also from second-hand stores) to dress the mannikan up in. It's really fun and looks really funky too.
Lines of beads hanging across the ceiling also look cool and so easy and cheap (just buy some string and some beads and spend the afternoon watching a movie while beading :P)
To get your room to look like the magazines, the key idea is to pick some key items and get rid of the rest of the clutter. You want the room to look fun, open and inviting, not already full! Good luck.

painting a teen girl room?
i have purchased some bedding from ikea...this is what it looks like http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50080080 and now i need to decide what colors to paint the wall. Wall colors can be anything...it's my desicion. I have a oak furniture set. i guess i'm kind of girly but i want the room to look updated not little-girlish. i'm going with black for accents. I have a black trimmed wall mirror from walmart and black picutre frames, and a black mushroom chair. any suggestions for wall colors greatly appreciated :)

I think lavender would accent it nicely...and it doesn't look little girlish.

What color should a 14yr old girl paint her room?
My room is pink right now & i want to change it. But i dont know what color?
Im really girly. Anyone have suggestions? (:

I suggest going to the hardware store and checking out color swatches. Then you can find other fun ideas for your room, like painting stripes on the wall or finding other ways to change your room. But in the end it's all up to the person living in it-you. You know what you like better than anyone on this site. :]
