23yr old girl decoratin her room?
im not sure what colours and carpet to have in my bedroom, i have pinky purpley curtains, and all beech funiture, im thinkin maybe brown fluffy carpet and maybe soft purple walls???

You're 23 years old. With "pink purple-y curtains". And by Beech, I hope you mean beech wood and not "beach". Brown fluffy carpet? Soft purple walls?
This sounds more like a 5 year old's room in the 70's than a 23 year old's room now.
If you want to keep the purple/brown theme going:
I would go with a simple light khaki carpet color. Or hardwood floors with some cool rugs.
Then go for a really really soft purple. Almost white. Or a jewel tone.
Use brown to "anchor" some parts of the room. A dust ruffle for your bed, the comforter, trim on your walls, or accessories.
Keep it looking grown-up, not childish. If you're 23 (and have the money to be re-doing your room) you should be going for a more sophisticated look.

Okay, so my room is purple. Its like medium purple, not too dark.
My furniture is wooden and my door is black and white checkered.
I need new curtains though, what color should i get?
I like more modern things, not all girly girl and princess-y.

How should I decorate my room?
Okay, I am redecorating my room I am a 15 year old girl and want something fresh. I have a basic purple comfortable and a dark blue wall and these sweet black curtains already but now I am stuck. I like the city and sports but right now its a little blah and I just need something to make things pop! I have a lot of room so thats no worry. Please and thank you

I understand that you need a pop. Its because everything is so dark in there! Maybe some silver accents? I don't know how much room you have, but you could get a cool mirror for over the bed, a lamp maybe? I also don't know if you live near a homegoods, but I was there the other day and they had some sparkly (not in a juvenile way) mirrors and lamps that were really awesome. Maybe you could incorporate some silver tones into the bed as well...silver pillows and a grey throw...etc. You could get a bunch of silver frames for the wall that match as well. Another cool idea is to cover a large piece of wall with cork. I had about a ten foot by 5 foot space completely devoted to my corkboard, and it was really awesome because its just all pictures of you and your friends and movie tickets...
You could do a pillow seating area as well, with large throw pillows to sit on and maybe a coffee table that used the colors in the room that are already there.
Hope this helps. I had a gigantic bedroom growing up (2 closets...huge bathroom...windowseat, back patio..the whole 9 yards...and was basically allowed to do what I wanted with it...so I redecorated six or seven times while I was growing up)
