Painting A Girls Room Blue

Photobucket

Chris asks…

should a girl be able to paint her room blue?

admin answers:

Yes.
It shouldnt matter what sex you are in order to paint your room a certain color.

Daniel asks…

My girl's room will be painted an aqua blue with blk/white bedding, what color curtains do I use?

Any other suggestions for decorating with those colors?

admin answers:

A darker shade of blue would go well with the aqua

Robert asks…

Paint help?? From dark room to light room?

My husband has painted our girls room from a baby blue to a tangerine type of orange. He did not put primer on the walls beforehand because the sales lady at the store said there was already primer in the paint we bought and it wouldn't be necessary. He has done 2 1/2 coats and it looks terrible. There's still streaks and you can kinda see the blue behind the orange paint. My husband is a good painter so I'm not doubting his skills, just this overpriced paint that apparently didn't work. Is there any way we can fix this to look better? He's planning on buying another bucket of paint to do a 3rd or maybe 4th coat. Will that do any good?

admin answers:

Grrr the paint/primer garbage. I would bring the empty paint can to them and complain to the management and demand they replace the paint in a different brand and get the primer. What a pain. Sorry for your trouble.

Going over a cool color with a warm color without a proper primer is...nucking futz.

Carol asks…

What shade of blue should I paint my room?

I am a teenage girl and have black and white damask bedding. Specific paint colors and brands preferably.

admin answers:

Quality paints are Behr (Home Depot) and Valspar (Lowe's Home Improvement). Look at the blue grays in these brands. You'll want to choose a color that is medium to dark. It is important that the blue have a gray undertone. This will give you a soothing room.

On the other hand, if you want something striking, you can look at the deep teals and turquoise shades.
