Painting teen girl room - color scheme?

Everything in my room is going out and im going to re paint it. Im going to have a black bed as the frame and I know i want my furniture to be black. But I dont want my room to be so dark so im relying on my walls and accessories for my room to brighten it. I just need a color scheme for my walls that would be nice. But no pinks or reds, or oranges. Something nice and mellow.

You can always do a light purple/lilac. Or light beachy blue. A light pink might look too childish,yellow seems like it would be too much after awhile,and green seems too masculine.

What color should i paint my teen girl room?

I have a dark blue, pink, and zebra room. my mom is letting me paint it but i dont know which color to paint it! i was thinking dark blue but the painting guy says it will make my room look really dark. i am 13 so i want it to look kinda fun. i dont want it to be pink because it would look too little girlish. So what should i paint it? also my rooms kinda small so what will make it look bigger? thanks for your help♥

I think you should stick with the zebra theme then also do bright colors like lime green, yellow, purple or blue! It will look cool. Light colors usually make rooms look bigger though. You could try light green and brown, or light blue and greyish. What about a plaid theme?? Hmmm... Think about it!

I wanted to paint my room midnight blue... My mom freaked... Saying it would be too dark... (her roof her rules)

we went with light blue walls, the curtains, bedspread and area rug were midnight blue... I loved it! It looked great!

She was right I am glad we did it that way - but dont tell her :-)
