my girls share room so I was thinking of painting one wall pink and one wall turquiose /black & white stripes?
admin answers:
That sounds like the only way to go about this, without giving them two separate rooms. It is also a very effective and cute way to handle it. They will both have their own "sides" in the room, and they will decorate it the way they will. Perhaps one of them will not like the color the other has on her side of the room, but do not let that turn into a national crisis. Tell her that's why that's not "her side." They will learn to get along with the room quite well.
Paul asks…
Painting Stripes - Calculation Based on Room Size?
Okay. My brain literally hurts at this point, please help!!! I am painting my nursery and have the base color (green) completed. Now I need to prepare for the stripes I want to do. Here is a link to the way I want to do my stripes

My colors are slightly brighter than theirs, but they mesh well.. My question is I am wanting to paint one accent wall with this striped pattern. The wall in question is a solid wall measuring 13 foot 6 inches wide.
Based on the website and using their preset widths for each stripe (1" brown, 2" blue, 4" yellow, 5" green following in between each color, minus the green, as 3/4") If I add those up it means I should have a repeating pattern of 13.5" yes? The website doesn't say exactly how wide their large open green area is where they mirrored the pattern but I figure to make it easier I'd estimate 13.5.
If my room is 13' 6" that translates to 162" correct? and 162/13.5 (size of my room divided by repeating pattern) = 12.. which means I could have an even amount of 11 repeating patterns and one wide open space as a focal point by the crib.. Did I do this right? I am worried that that many stripes will give me and others a headache!! The room in the picture didn't have nearly that many repeating patterns!! Obviously that may mean I need larger stripes, but I don't want to take away from the overall effect.
Please give me your opinion on this project, is there an easier way to figure out stripe sizes or should I just give up and do a different pattern!? Thanks in advance.

Trying the link again.. if this doesn't work you can search at their main site after choosing English and for the home. Below is a link to their site

Search for "nursery rhyme time" and it should be like the second link that says that verbatim. Thanks for any input guys!

Not sure what the question is: I could recommend some good migrane remedies, it sounds like she might need them.
Helen asks…
Do you have any painting suggestions for my daughters room?
We are painting both girls rooms this weekend, .
One of the rooms I'm redoing in shabby chic white and pink with green accessories. So now I'm trying to figure out how to paint the walls. I thought of maybe doing pink and white stripes but I'm not sure about that. I don't want to do any murals because she changes her mind so often. Another thing I thought might look okay was painting it pink and painting big white polka dots. I just don't know.. Any suggestions/thoughts?
Oh I forgot, my other daughter is doing hers in pale blue and pale lime green. I'm leaning more on pale lime green walls. Should I add any blue ? Do stripes with that? My mind is all over the place. thank you.
Zorro, I'm using LIGHT pink. lol.. I'm not looking for loud, at all. More like peaceful. :p
Gabby I really like those suggestions. what do you mean by lace patterns, though? Like a stencil?
admin answers:
Painting it a vintage pink/blush like color and use a cream (more white than yellow) for the polka dots. Use minty green as accents around the top of the walls and base boards. Make sheer green curtains and use pink accents on the curtains.
For the other room, do a sea scape type blue and accent with green stripes, but instead of rolling on the green, use antique lace patterns to make the stripes.
*You can find vintage lace at antique shops. Kind of like a doily pattern. That's best way I know to describe it.
**Wait here's a picture of vintage/antique lace:
