Cute ideas for a toddler girl's room?
We're moving and I'm looking for some cute painting ideas for a toddler girl's room. Not into princess or themes. Her room now is adorable, pink with white wainscoting on the bottom. Hubby won't do that again though, too hard. I like pink and green and her furniture is white. Thanks!

I agree with the garden theme, i like to see rooms that meet the need but also can be altered easily for age or just for the need to alter.
Paint all the walls off white and them take a large sponge and spong on the pink. It takes a while but it gives a hint of white you can also do three solid pink and then a sponge pink. As she gets older a garden can turn into so many things. And this paint job can actually grow as they get older

cheap toddler room ideas?
ok, i want to decorate my 2 year old girls room but we are on a budget and i have to do this at a fairly cheap price and i need ideas of all kinds so anything will help. She will be sharing her room with her baby brother (due in may) but the room is divided up. the carpet is like a maroon color( nothing i can do about that , at least not right now) the walls and ceiling are white with nothing on them at all. she has hot pink curtains over the window. Her bed is plane and white toddler bed with princess sheets and pillow case. She has all different size stuffed animals and all kinds of toys. And before anyone says anything.....im not good and building things. please help me if you can...thank you

I would just get her some decals or stickers (you get them at walmart in the paint/diy section by the wall paper) to make it look more girly on her side of the room, like above her bed. You get princesses, Dora the explorer, Tinkerbell, flowers etc. My daughters loved glow in the dark stars/flowers etc, and we hung fairy barbies from the ceiling with fishing gut so they look like theyre floating around her bed. Total cost for making it look cute, like $20.

Nursery/Toddler room ideas PLEASE?
What should we do about our daughters' room?
With our first daughter we had Looney toons as the theme so it wasn't too girly. The mobile and bedding for that got ruined though. For my daughter, who is now 2, we got her the spongebob room set. Its table and chairs, bed, and storage for her toys. Well, the reason we chose the Spongebob instead of a more girly character that she likes just as much like disney princess or dora is because we knew we were having another baby and were planning for just in-case it was a boy so their decor in their room that they will be sharing wouldn't look too bad. But, we just found out today that we are having another baby girl! I want to make the room more girly as my 2 year old girl is starting to become more into dress up, dolls, and girly things. Also, we were wanting to do a butterfly theme for the nursery part of their room for the new baby. So, what should we do about the Spongebob furniture? Its all blue and yellow. It seems more for a boy. Any suggestions or ideas for their room would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

I know some one who has a really similar set up in their house with a 3 year old girl and a 3 month old baby girl in the same room and they wanted Butterfly theme too!
The made the room into a flower garden theme! They have pastel blue walls with green around the bottom for grass and pink and purple flowers painted on the walls and various flower accessories. Over where the cot is they have lots of butterflies painted on the wall and some pretty butterfly hangings on the ceiling. They also have little flower boxes on the window sills and various white wash wooden furniture.
This theme works well because the furniture is white so it can be used in any theme. They didn't want to have a character (eg. Sponge bob, Dora, etc) because children change their favorite so often and they didn't want to be changing the room all the time!
Hope this helps!

Any suggestions on colors to paint a girl toddler's room.?
I am wanting to paint my daughter's room, but I've looked at too many colors and am now overwhelmed. The room is a basic size, with a large window, it also has chair rail molding about 4 feet off the floor.
Any ideas/suggestions would be great.

Play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "briny" (# 6775) might be a good choice.
You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
