Paint one wall (probably the one behind your bed) an eggplant purple, and do the others a silver grey. Do not do contrasting trim - keep all woodwork the same color as the wall.
Your furniture could be black, silver, or mirrored - or a combination of these.
Keep your bedding light (less likely to fade with washing), and use purple throw pillows mixed with black and/or silver ones of varying sizes.

Room decorating ideas please! (16 yr old girl)?
Here is what my room currently looks like:

I feel like nothing matches each other.. Like, I've got yellow walls which I painted about a year ago because I thought I was getting white furnature to go with it.. my parents got me timber varnished bedside table and tallboy instead..
My desk doesn't match.. it's cheap, grey laminex and the big collage of pictures on the back wall does not match with the yellow!
Ideas, anyone?! I was thinking maybe I could paint it a greyish-light-purple colour and get a new desk?
And what can I put on my walls? Any ideas helps.. I hate my room!
I want a room that is soft and a little girly/preppy.. also, it cannot cost a lot of money.. I don't have a lot of money to spend..
Thankyou! xx

Well I would suggest to get a nice dark wood finished bed room set, but since you can't do that . . . I would paint it a nice tan color with picture of friends on a tack board. Everything is neat in a preps room. Bed made lots of pillows! Preps decorate with books. Book shelves, books on nightstand, on desk, and of course True Prep must be displayed!
John asks…
does anybody have any ideas on how to decorate a teen girls room with black, white, red and purple?
just need some help. gotta have all the painting done before the new carpet gets installed next monday

First off, paint the walls a soft gray, use the rest of the colors on things that are easily replacable. You will tire of this color scheme pretty quickly. Gray will blend with most any other colors you want later on.

Any ideas of themes/decorating ideas for a teen girls bedroom?
Her favorite colors are purple, green, and blue and kinda wants all 3 incorporated into the room

Maybe an abstract polka dot theme? Or like a deep green and deep blue almost aqua-y tint to them with zebra striped accents. Something she will like for a while, so young enough yet mature enough. You can add in purple hints to lamps, lining of a bulletin board, throw pillows, or a funky purple mirror. Cool chairs are always fun to add. Or try a corner of the room with paper mache stars hanging from the ceiling by ribbons. Like three big stars, all hanging at different levels. Look at bombay kids or pb teen for more ideas.
Best of luck!
