Little Girls Easter Dresses

Easter dress question for those that do NOT go to church?

For those that celebrate a secular Easter (just doing the Easter basket/Easter eggs thing) do you still buy a pretty Easter dress for your little girl? If you do does she just run around in it all day or is it just for pictures? Or do you skip the dressing up and just go to egg hunts and 'find the hidden Easter basket' in regular clothes?

(and NO this is NOT a question on religion, strictly about dressing on Easter Sunday)

If you are not attending Easter services at a house of worship, you can skip the fancy dress and shoes. For your little one, I would purchase a cute, pastel-colored shorts set (if it's already warm in your area) or a capri set and some cute sandals or tennis shoes. You can take some pictures of her wearing that.

Does anyone know of any stores that sell slips for little girls? I am prefer to young girls sizes 12 - 16.?

I have tried several departments such as JCPenney's, Children's Palace, Sears, to no avail. I hate the message that that is sending our young ladies that we want to teach modesty and self-respect. It is already bad enough that the Easter dresses on the market were mostly halter dresses and those with no sleeves. There are still a lot of us old-schooled who want to teach our daughters and granddaughters to always leave plenty to the imagination.

im for the old fashioned way of dressing on easter sunday.the pretty frilly dresses?

for women and little girls,and suits and ties for the men and little boys.the women and young girls wore hats,what ever happened to the hat tradition?

Wow, is THAT what jesus and other jews wear TRADITIONALLY on sunday? Or did it never occur to you that this is a recent INNOVATION, maybe 100 years old if you're lucky.

Pretty little dress..I thought this one would be cute for the mommys?

It was that time, during the sunday morning service, for the childrens sermon. All the children were invited to come forward. One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and as she sat down, the pastor leaned over and said, "That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?" The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone, " Yes, and my mom says it's a B*tch to iron!
